Some of these accounts are run 24/7 and are on a global IP whitelist, which allows them to edit from VPNs.
There are people whose entire lives are lived on WP. They want their account names to be known as famous on WP and to be powerful on WP, which allows them to have more sway in editing controversial topics. They also get a power rush from blocking other users.
These WP-obsessed people treat WP like a video game, where they have to “level up” their account to become more powerful.
Many WP editors are highly secretive and don’t let anyone know who they are whatsoever.
