Wow… I don’t even know where to begin…
And that’s not something that happens to me often.
This is the incredible tattoo by the amazing Mickey.
The story behind the tattoo is insane: Mickey’s son was at the Nova party. He escaped with friends as soon as the chaos started, and they got very close to Kibbutz Be’eri.
The sounds they heard coming from the kibbutz made them realize it wasn’t safe there either, so they went to hide in an avocado orchard.
He stayed hidden under one of the avocado trees for hours upon hours until rescue arrived.
The dry leaves under the tree forced them to stay completely still for a very long time — any tiny movement made a noise.
Right after the rescue, he went straight to his military base, and from there he and his friends were sent into Gaza.
His mom Mickey only reunited with him two months later!
In the time since their reunion, together and separately, they both went through a deep process of growth — growth from trauma and from brokenness.
After about two years, he took Mickey to recreate the events of that day. They reached the avocado orchard and found the exact tree he hid under.
The original sketch is usually kept by the designer and tattoo artist (Reut Michael), but this time she gave it to Mickey as a personal gift, adding the dedication she asked for.
We wish Boaz that he will always grow upwards, that he’ll be happy and healthy, and that he’ll keep himself safe wherever he goes 🙏🏼💚🥑
