For the purposes of context, I was born in 1955, roughly ten years after
WWII ended. My parents talked very little about the war years, so, for
me, in my adolescence, WWII was the stuff of movies. At a young age, I
had only a passing interest in museums or documentaries. The obvious
caveat is being educated on all aspects of the Holocaust. If you’re
Jewish, the Holocaust is omnipresent and, needless to say, remains so to
this day. When antisemitism is at its present level, the historical
Jewish PTSD kicks into high gear. I mention this because it sets the
tone for what I have to say next.
