She wanted to become famous for her anti-Semitism and was fired for it.

Not at a protest. Not at a rally. At 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐲 in one of the most public spaces on earth.

“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦’𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦!” she screamed. “𝘉𝘢𝘣𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴! 𝘛𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴! 𝘍∗𝘤𝘬 𝘐𝘴𝘳𝘢𝘦𝘭! 𝘞𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦!” She recorded herself doing it. She 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 people to see.

That’s the part that should disturb you most. This wasn’t a moment of rage caught on someone else’s camera. Jennifer Koonings 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 harassing strangers she identified as Jewish and posted it as if it were something to be proud of. The comfort with which she screams these things in broad daylight in the middle of Times Square tells you everything about what’s been 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 in this country.

She’s a 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 licensed in the State of New York, affiliated with 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 (http://imhs.nyc). She treats patients. She may treat 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. A woman who screams “baby killers” and “terrorists” at Jewish strangers on the street is someone entrusted with the mental health of vulnerable people in New York City.

This isn’t a lapse in judgment. This is who she is when she thinks it’s socially acceptable. And in 2026 New York — under a mayor who scrapped the IHRA antisemitism definition on 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐎𝐧𝐞 — she’s right. It 𝐢𝐬 socially acceptable. That’s the problem.

So let’s make Jennifer Koonings famous. Let’s make sure 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 knows that their provider is on video screaming antisemitic slurs at Jewish people in Times Square. Let’s make sure every Jewish patient and family considering their services sees exactly who is behind the door.
