The antizionist ideology seeks the elimination of Jewish life, whether in Israel or the diaspora. To achieve this, it relies on a predictable four-stage escalation.
The Libel
It begins by spreading axiomatic libels—'colonizer,' 'apartheid,' and
'genocide'—designed not for debate, but to cement the image of Israel
and Jews as inherently criminal. This is a core tactic of the BDS movement,
which aims to brand Israel as a criminal state and isolate it
internationally, as outlined in the objectives of the Palestinian
Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).
The Stigma
This is the institutionalization of hate. Whether it is BDS Geneva
declaring a clinic an 'Apartheid Free Zone,' a cultural boycott
fracturing the Eurovision, or local groups de-shelving Israeli
products—they are actively creating 'Jews-not-allowed' clubs. These
actions are part of a broader campaign to stigmatize and exclude Jews
and Israelis from public life, as seen in the BDS movement's efforts to
boycott, divest from, and sanction Israel in all spheres, including
culture and commerce (Countering Anti-Israel Boycotts on Campuses: Best Practices Against BDS, BDS movement introduction).
The Violence
By marking institutions and individuals as unclean, they are normalizing
our erasure and preparing the social and political ground for the final
stage: Violence. BDS and similar campaigns often cross the line into
antisemitism, dehumanizing Israelis and their supporters, and laying the
groundwork for more direct forms of hostility (Explaining the Antisemitic BDS Movement, Countering Anti-Israel Boycotts on Campuses, BDS movement introduction).
Our Denial
Despite our history, despite the victims in our own families, we remain
in denial. We tell ourselves it’s just one birth center, that BDS is a
'civil rights' movement, or that cultural boycotts are minor
inconveniences. While Omar Barghouti, the founder of BDS, drinks coffee
in Akko, we convince ourselves we can coexist with our own destruction (BDS Unmasked: Radical Roots, Extremist Ends, Countering Anti-Israel Boycotts on Campuses). And what are we doing about BDS?
