and it landed on a place so misunderstood by the media that most people think they already know everything about it before ever stepping foot here.

The internet shows you conflict, politics, and headlines. But rarely the people.

The late night beach volleyball games.
The mix of cultures, religions, and languages.
The markets full of music and chaos.
The strangers inviting you into their homes.
The cafés packed until midnight. The feeling of life everywhere you go.

This place is complicated. But it’s also human.

And after traveling through nearly 50 countries around the world,
one thing I’ve learned is that places are never fully defined by the headlines written about them.
